My objects are an intuitive way to tell what could go wrong
Gallery Vernon and Galeria Miejska presents a solo exhibition by young Polish artist Miłosz Flis that shows his paintings, sculptures and objects experimenting with a form, meaning and cultural context. Intuitive, visionary and playful at the same time might be the synonyms for Flis`s art.
Milosz Flis was born in 1986 in Lublin, Poland, and has graduated in 2012 at the studio of prof. Janusz Kucharski at the Sculpture Department of the Academy of Fine Arts in Wroclaw. He deals with sculpture, painting, graphics and computer graphics based on both formal and technological experiments. He is interested in abstraction as well as figurative art. He has held three individual exhibition in Wroclaw and participated on group exhibitions at different location of Poland.
In his art, he aims to keep his activities in the sphere of art the most intuitive and straightforward: „Based on previous experience of painting I concluded, that the image formation process often took place without the participation of consciousness, it became a ritual exchange of emotions between me and the work. Over the time, images have become more minimalistic, economical, giving the field to abstract juxtapositions of colors.“
As for the sculpture, where the material used has a huge impact on the emotional potential of work, he relies on plastics, which he consider being a kind of part of the collective consciousness, the material that says a lot about a modern man. „The resulting objects are often constructed from found or recycled objects to be my personal reflections on the present. I like to think of them as potential discoveries of a man from the future, which as a result of some global catastrophe had no contact with the present civilization. My objects are an intuitive way to tell him what could go wrong“ – says Flis.
The exhibition is organized in cooperation of the Gallery Vernon and Galeria Miejska Wroclaw.
The opening takes place at the presence of the artist and the Galeria Miejska Wroclaw delegation on tuesday 29. 7. 2014 at 6 pm at the Gallery Vernon, Janáčkovo nábřeží 21, Prague 5.
