The “Metamorphosis/The magic in image” exhibition presents works of Polish artists, that represent such art movements as contemporary surrealism and magic realism.

The art show is a part of a bigger project initiated by Małgorzata and Adam Krużycki. At their request 47 artists created 58 pictures linked by the phenomenon of metamorphosis as a common theme. The main motif of this project makes the static images more dynamic and anxious, enriching immobile “here and now” with forgotten “before” and unknown “after”.

Objectivity of a realistic painting is illusory and insufficient in the moment, when the artist realizes that reality has no objectivity, when he finds out continual changes of the world with accompanying geological shifts, sprouting and rotting or the drone of bombers. Due to realizing variabilism of the real world, an artist can create an imaginative painting universe, which are subjected to transformations full of interpenetrates between shapes and transitions.

Those who decide to have an adventure into the deepest areas of this works, have a chance to take part in metamorphosis process of themselves. Finally, it gives them an opportunity to perceive the world and themselves in a new, different perspective.
