From 17 May, the City Gallery will be filled with the art of Professor Pawe\u0142 Fr\u0105ckiewicz. The Wroc\u0142aw-based artist will be presenting works created over the past two decades in various printmaking techniques, digital printing and drawing.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fr\u0105ckiewicz\u2019s works presented in his solo exhibition at the Wroc\u0142aw gallery are divided into three main series: Bulls<\/em>, Trees<\/em> and Moons<\/em>. Although the works included in a particular series share the same motifs, they often vary in the multiplicity of artistic techniques used within them. The artist uses, among others, lithography, algraphy, digital printing, including UV printing, pen and pencil drawing, as well as black and white chalk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fr\u0105ckiewicz’s artistic strategy involves creating vague relationships between motifs taken directly from nature and elements reminiscent of human production. The tendency to combine antagonisms is also reflected in the formal layer of his work, for example by juxtaposing tonal drawing with precise hatching or by placing structural density next to areas of maximally simplified composition. The artist describes his art as follows: I draw hard geometric forms and soft organic forms, without shying away from gestures allied to Far Eastern art. I balance between the positive and the negative in order to preserve the relationship between the present and the absent<\/em>.  As a result, the essence of Fr\u0105ckiewicz\u2019s art lies somewhere between primordial matter and the sphere of spirituality, while in his works, the artist strives to combine the impressional experience with intellectual reflection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Miros\u0142aw Jasi\u0144ski, the curator of the exhibition, writes these words to explain the title of the exhibition: It is, of course, a mental journey into the depths of spiritual energy drawn from real experience and imagination. Taurida is also a metaphorical and mythical land once described by Herodotus and Strabo, exuding power, the cruelty of nature and its melancholy. And just as with the ancient Greeks, in Pawe\u0142 Fr\u0105ckiewicz’s art the myths ooze from beneath the almost idolatrously rendered matter, obscured from the world by the shadow of Taurus \u2013 the bull<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The exhibition will be on view until 14 June 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dzie\u0142a Fr\u0105ckiewicza prezentowane podczas jego indywidualnej wystawy we wroc\u0142awskiej galerii sk\u0142adaj\u0105 si\u0119 na trzy g\u0142\u00f3wne cykle: Byki, Drzewa <\/em>oraz Ksi\u0119\u017cyce. <\/em>Chocia\u017c prace wchodz\u0105ce w sk\u0142ad konkretnej serii spajaj\u0105 wsp\u00f3lne motywy, to nierzadko r\u00f3\u017cnicuje je mnogo\u015b\u0107 wykorzystywanych w ich obr\u0119bie technik artystycznych. Tw\u00f3rca pos\u0142uguje si\u0119 m.in. litografi\u0105, algrafi\u0105, drukiem cyfrowym, w tym drukiem UV, rysunkiem pi\u00f3rem, o\u0142\u00f3wkiem czy czarn\u0105 i bia\u0142\u0105 kred\u0105.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Artystyczna strategia Fr\u0105ckiewicza polega na kreowaniu nieoczywistych relacji pomi\u0119dzy motywami pochodz\u0105cymi wprost ze \u015bwiata natury z elementami przywodz\u0105cymi na my\u015bl wytw\u00f3rczo\u015b\u0107 cz\u0142owieka. Tendencje do \u0142\u0105czenia ze sob\u0105 antagonizm\u00f3w znajduj\u0105 odzwierciedlenie r\u00f3wnie\u017c  w formalnej warstwie jego dzie\u0142, na przyk\u0142ad poprzez zestawianie rysunku tonalnego z precyzyjnym kreskowaniem czy sytuowanie strukturalnego zag\u0119szczenia obok maksymalnie uproszczonych kompozycyjnie obszar\u00f3w. Artysta m\u00f3wi zreszt\u0105 o w\u0142asnej sztuce w ten spos\u00f3b: Kre\u015bl\u0119 twarde formy geometryczne i mi\u0119kkie formy organiczne, nie od\u017cegnuj\u0105c si\u0119 przy tym od gest\u00f3w spowinowaconych ze sztuk\u0105 Dalekiego Wschodu. Balansuj\u0119 pomi\u0119dzy pozytywem i negatywem po to, \u017ceby zachowa\u0107 relacj\u0119 obecnego i nieobecnego.  <\/em>Wszystko to sprawia, i\u017c istota tw\u00f3rczo\u015bci Fr\u0105ckiewicza lokuje si\u0119 gdzie\u015b pomi\u0119dzy pierwotn\u0105 materi\u0105 a sfer\u0105 duchowo\u015bci, za\u015b artysta w swoich pracach d\u0105\u017cy do scalania impresyjno\u015bci do\u015bwiadczania z intelektualn\u0105 refleksj\u0105.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kurator ekspozycji, Miros\u0142aw Jasi\u0144ski, obja\u015bniaj\u0105c jej tytu\u0142, pisze: To oczywi\u015bcie mentalna podr\u00f3\u017c w g\u0142\u0105b duchowej energii czerpanej z rzeczywistych dozna\u0144 i z wyobra\u017ani.
