\u201eOn the Run\u201d is a\u00a0monographic exhibition presenting four decades of Ian Emes artistic activity. This is also the first such a\u00a0large exhibition of works by the artist in Poland. Moreover \u201cOn the Run\u201d is in some way an announcement of David Gilmour\u2019s concert that will be held in Wroclaw on the 25th of June 2016.<\/strong>

The multimedia art show explores spatial relations between the sound and a\u00a0moving picture. It also explains the process of music interpretation through using various artistic genres such as video or hand-drawn animation which are the most common in Emes\u2019 art. The exhibition is a\u00a0unique occasion to see historical shifts from the drawing era to digitalization and computer generated images. An audience will be pulled into the game of opposites, between motionless and moving pictures, computer generated and hand-drawn works. Furthermore between different forms of compositions that can be geometrical or organic.

\u201eOn the Run\u201d is a\u00a0first exhibition of Ian Emes in Poland and interestingly its main core will be a\u00a0new project executed by Emes especially on that occasion. The newest art piece is an installation consists of animations and looped videos displayed on screens with music accompaniment.

The display will include the famous animated video made by Emes for Pink Floyd, paintings and drawings from the artist\u2019s archive, group of the newest artworks, as well as original film frames from movies he made in the 70s and 80s for rock and pop stars like Paul and Linda McCartney, Mike Oldfield or Duran Duran group.

As part of the event an open lecture will be held in the City Gallery on the 25th of June during which Ian Emes will talk about his artistic career, inspirations and creative process. He will also compere the way of making music animation, films and music videos in the past with creative methods popular nowadays.
