Starting off from the metaphysical concepts and premises presented in the newest publication by Andrzej Falkiewicz, the curator of the City Gallery - Mirosław Jasiński created an unusual, brave and multidimensional concept of an exhibition, that could be placed at the junction of many disciplines: cosmology, cosmogony, astronomy, metaphysics and visual arts.
Following this design, a group of stylistically and formally varied modern artistic works was juxtaposed in the exhibition space against the priceless, the 16th century Epitaph of Nikolaus Jenkwicz-Posadowski. A brave idea and an inspiring one at the same time, especially taking into account that the motif running through all of the elements is the planetary system that we know so well from the atlas of the stars.
Mirosław Jasiński invited seven artists acclaimed in Wroclaw's community to participate in this project - Andrzej Klimczak-Dobrzaniecki, Łukasz Huculak, Karolina Jaklewicz, Kasia Kmita, Monika Konieczna, Daniel Krysta and Zdzisław Nitka - completing this group with the addition of sadly deceased Marek Starzyk to whom this exhibition is dedicated. Following the curatorial concept, each artist received a planet that in terms of its traits, character and symbolic rootedness best corresponds to and characterises their presented work.
