The art seen on the exhibition definitely comes back to human figure, to things, human narration, sometimes in allegorical or symbolical way. It contradicts the statement of Alfred Barr: „geometry abstraction and gestural art are crowning achievements of modernistic art and art as a whole” that art is only a perfect object of universal geometry and abstract gesture with expression separated from human sources. This is the return of moving image and profound meanings it carries. Of course the lesson of Modernism is not to be neglected, set on the ground of different traditions: old painting, Modernism, twentieth-century realisms with belief that new soil of artistic possibilities can be created. All the same there is something Promethean in these attempts. Although in Hesiod’s Theogony, Zeus to take revenge on Perseus orders to make Pandora, who opening her box unleashes evil and misery on the world. It is interesting the creators of Pandora’s Box are Hephaestus (technology), Hermes (trade), Athena (knowledge) and Aphrodite (inspiring lust). When all the disasters spread around after opening the box, Pandora managed to close the lid. There is only Hope at the bottom.
